Analysis of Density:

Consider a beaker of water sitting on the pan of an electronic scale, giving a reading of 110.4 g. A lead weight hanging from a string is suspended in the water and the mass reading on the scale increases to 127.9 g. The lead weight falls from the string, rests on the bottom of the beaker, and the reading becomes 309.4 g. Note: Be careful of significant figures and include units on all numbers.

1. What is the mass of water displaced by the lead weight?

2. What is the volume of water displaced by the lead weight?

3. What is the volume of the lead weight?

4. What is the mass of the lead weight?

5. What is the density of the lead weight?
