Today WVU-V 2001 moves into its final stages. Over
the past couple of weeks our students have been working in the community
of Les Sables on their individual culture and communication
projects. This project involves choosing a topic, doing
preliminary research, interviewing an "expert" in the field,
and reporting both orally and in writing on the findings.
Mindy Dolan has just finished her research and has volunteered to do the first of our oral reports. Her subject is the zoo of Les Sables d'Olonne. Les Sables is a fairly small town and it is rare that such a community is able to support a zoo. Mindy was curious to see how the zoo was conceived, built, and above all how it survives. |
