WVU WRITING PROJECT SUMMER INSTITUTE  2005

A three-prong approach has been the hallmark of all Summer Institutes. Writing, research, and demonstrations allow teachers to live and learn the philosophy of the National Writing Project. The Summer Institute focuses on teachers sharing the experience of writing as a basis for studying the teaching of writing, along  with updates in technology for teachers.

Any teacher who believes that writing is important for students and is willing to work intensively with others is invited to apply.  You do not have to be an outstanding writer, and you do not have to be an expert in the teaching of writing.  However, you must have a commitment to the teaching of writing and students' use of writing to help their learning.

Attendance at these sessions is required.
