Dr. V. and I have spent part of our weekend reading the first chapters in the journals of our Vendéens. These are as great a treasure as any we will explore on our visits here. As professors of language and culture, nothing is more exciting than to see the discoveries our students are making every day and every minute. One discovery our Lucie makes is the growth and approaching maturity of her little cousins, Hermine and Juliette. Since these class days are fairly routine, I may not report every day from here on out.
