Lest we forget . . .

As we leave the gardens we enter a very special animated exhibit recounting the Vendée Wars from two perspectives.  Here we see the robot representing a Republican soldier who has come here to defend the principles of liberty espoused by his cherished Republic.  Across the room he is opposed by a rebel "Vendéen" who seeks to preserve France in the ways of King and Church.  The ideals of each are spoken with passion and conviction.  They are two men who know they are absolutely right.  They also know the other is absolutely wrong.  The result, of course, is war with no quarter given, none taken.
