This photo is from yesterday, June 17, a pretty standard day of class with reviews, quizzes, quinconces, and prep for the trip up the Loire Valley that will take us away from Les Sables for two days. We've done a lot of talking about Vendée against the Revolution in the 1790's. That's not true for all of Vendée, of course. Les Sables was a staunch supporter of the Republic. This cross, just off the remblai, marks the spot where the guillotine was set up to help eliminate the rebellion.
