Back a little in history to 1559, a generation or two after Anne's rule here. In the 1530's a lot of ideas started floating around. Some of them were written in French and not Latin -- a first. They spread quickly, and they caused fear in the court. Jean Calvin (John Calvin) was one of those writing in French, and his followers rejected many dogmas of the Catholic Church. The Wars of Religion we upon us.
