The Loire Valley: Part Deux

The death of Henri III left the kingdom to ruin.  As I said last page, the only heir to the throne was the protestant cousin Henri de Navarre-Bourbon.  Several years of war and Navarre's eventual conversion to Catholicism would allow him to be crowned Henri IV.  Henri III's wife, however, was inconsolable.  After her husband's assassination, she would live out her life in this room painted black.
