The Longest Lunch...

I can show you the cross that marks the spot where the legendary General Charette was wounded and taken prisoner in 1796.  From here he would be taken to the conquered castle of Chabotterie and dressed for his march to nearby Nantes, there to be paraded before the public and shot as a traitor to the Nation.   For many in these parts, he is a martyr to the Faith.
