Wait, we still have a road home, but all these warnings seem a bit ominous. Our driver is quick to explain. This road goes under the sea. You can take it only at your own risk and only at very select hours of the day. Any other time, you'll drown or you'll loose your car. We say "go for it", but our driver says his bus is not about to take this risk. Our Vendéens are still skeptical and disappointed at his lack of daring-do. He does tell us that if we make a mistake we better be ready to climb up one of those poles we see just a little further. They save many skeptics from drowning every year. We decide to swallow our pride, kind of.
