A Chicken in Every Pot...

The inn is built into the site of an old mill that used the stream running under here to transform the wheat of these field to the flour and the bread that were the life of traditional France.  Unfortunately, the millers here were among those who believed they were safe when Good King Henry declared freedom of religion in 1598.  Come 1793, these Protestants were seen as sympathizers with the Republic that was so newly born.  The owners of this mill we massacred, along with so many others whose religion was not right when the judgment of man was at hand.
