Among the wonders of Yeu is that  no tourists are allowed to bring automobiles to the island.  There are cars here, but they belong to the islanders alone.  We visitors will spend our day on bicycle.

On my tour, one of the first notes I take is of this very ancient "pierre levée" -- a small megalith from the earliest times of humankind.
