On our way back to Les Sables we stop by the village of Azay-le-Rideau. It too is home to one of France's most beautiful castles. We've had a couple delays on the way and we've missed the 5:00 closing, but we still get to walk around the charming village for a few minutes before climbing aboard the Vendée-mobile for our trip back home. It's been in many ways an exceptional visit to the Loire Valley -- one none of us will likely soon forget.
