As our day ends, we must take a newly constructed bridge back to the Continent (remember this is an island and Europe is just across the sea from here). This picture looks out from the bridge toward the passage of the Gois, which we took earlier and which is now under the sea. The boats you see here are docked on the island and the coast you see above is that of mother Europe. Soon we'll be home in mainland Vendée by the sea.
