She uncovered several important factors that affect the success of health food sales in France. Since Espace-Bio is a fairly small independent business, for example, it has joined a coop with other small vendors in order to increase purchasing power and keep prices competitive. She also noted that, largely for social reasons, the manager of Espace-Bio is not a strict vegetarian. There followed a lively discussion about French eating habits and the importance of food in this culture. |
