Judith Smith Wilkinson
Wilkinson, as a "life long learner," has
earned three masters degrees in the fields of education, theology, and
counseling. After graduating from West Virginia University with a BS and
MA in education in 1965 and 1967, respectively, she attended Wheeling Jesuit
University and earned a MA in theology. Wilkinson then attended West
Virginia Graduate College and earned a MA in counseling before enrolling at The
Union Institute. On her 50th birthday, she decided to begin a doctoral program
that integrated all of these areas of study and graduated with a PhD in
counseling and spiritual direction from The Union Institute. Over the past 10 years
Wilkinson has been senior therapist and supervisor at the Kanawha Pastoral
Counseling Center in Charleston, West Virginia. She has been a fellow at
the American Association of Pastoral Counselors; a frequent speaker and workshop
leader; and, is a licensed professional counselor and social worker.
Wilkinson has also taught and been a counselor in public and private schools.
Wilkinson and her husband, Dr. Ronald Wilkinson, are both natives of West Virginia and are the parents of two adult children.
