The Princesses’ Diary

June 24, 2002

Dear Diary,

Three princesses conspired to record today’s events.

When we arrived we learned that it was moving day.  Soggy floors and demanding palace workers forced us to relocate our thrones, and our treasured items.

Since no other members of the palace staff will venture into this kingdom, we had to arrange the room ourselves.  Queen Sally and Queen Ellen acted as if they were quite pleased with our work.

The Palace Chefs showed their loyalty by bringing exquisite confections; disposable crystal and silver, all emblazoned with the royal seal.

The Keepers of the Archives displayed their wares, scrolls and electronic portraits.  All of the princesses like this. The Queens are especially proud.

We got excited when there was an activity for us.  Royal fantasies were explored by all.  We princesses are more complicated than you might think.  For no one could match each princess to her inner most thoughts.  I still can not understand this custom of putting things on your head that ruin your ROYAL HAIRSTYLE.  There must be a better way!

The Royal Educator taught us how to present a lesson fit for the King himself.  She told us about places that exist beyond our own kingdoms.  She did it so well we almost believed her.

We traveled to the neighboring kingdom of Technoland.  It truly is a foreign land.  The Royal Wizard, Queen Margaret, trained us in the ways of the stranger Marco Polo while some princesses chose to work on personal things.  Queen Margaret must be a highly skilled wizard.  We kept her so busy with questions that her magic keyboard was beginning to smoke.  Before the lesson was complete, she warned us of the evils lurking in Technoland.  I wonder if our magic skills will ever develop.

            Till the morrow.

                                                                                                            Princess Laura,

                                                                                                            Princess Terry,

                                                                                                                   and

                                                                                                            Princess Vicki
