A few members of our group reached milestones today.  Dee made it through her log presentation WITHOUT asking any questions.  Then giggling drew our attention to Sally and Ellen.  They were so proud; with a little coaching from Molly, their technology was working today.  Amazingly this group of talkers becomes quiet when the logs are revealed.  Just like our students, we love to revisit our proudest moments.

Joyce Evans visited us today.  If I could put into words the emotions that passed over Sally’s face as Joyce spoke, I wouldn’t need this class.  Joyce told us that learning is about connecting.  By my estimation, she doesn’t connect, she immerses.  Perhaps she summed it up best by saying,  “I love what I do.”

Oprah, disguised as Sally, joined us just before lunch.  With true sensitivity, she led us through a 9-11discussion and the Preston County graduation situation.  Wouldn’t it be great if she could “connect” with our educational leaders?

Connecting is the name of the game in peer response group meetings.  I, too, have come to trust and respect these women.

We ended our day with Susan White.  She came to demonstrate book sharing.  Instead, she drew us so close to herself that we got a peek into her soul.  It touched mine.

I can see better today.  I am standing on the shoulders of giants!

                                                                                      Thank you,
