Weekly
Lab
Assignments
There will be eleven lab assignments. The assignments will be given at the beginning of each lab period. Students are encouraged to discuss the assignment with lab partners and to ask questions of the instructor. The lab assignments are to be completed during the lab period and submitted before leaving. The lowest lab score will be discarded.
Lab Group
Students will work in groups of two or three. Groups of four will not be permitted unless a lack of equipment makes it necessary. Students in the same group must have the same data. Students in different groups must have different data.
Exams
A final comprehensive, open-notebook exam will be held at the end of the semester.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all labs. Good attendance is highly correlated with good grades. Freshmen and upperclassmen on academic probation are permitted no more than two absences.
Grading
The following weights will be used in determining students' numerical grades:

   80% Lab write-ups
   20% Final comprehensive exam

The following scale will be used to convert numerical grades into letter grades.

   A : 90 - 100%
   B : 80 -  90%
   C : 70 -  80%
   D : 60 -  70%
   F :  0 -  60%

Tutoring

The Academic Resource Center (ARC): Ignatius Hall, Ground Floor, 243-4473,  (http://www4.wju.edu/arc ). The ARC offers discipline-specific assistance at no cost to enrolled students.
