NARRATIVE
The cable is connected from the output of the oscillator to the input of the amplifier at either RCA input jack in the back. Connect the leads from the sound chamber's speaker driver (in the back of the sound chamber - not shown in the picture) to the output of the amplifier. Place the beaker on the foam rubber in the sound chamber so that it does not touch the wall or copper pipe, but is about ½ inch away from the copper pipe. Place the two paper strips on the edge of the beaker. With the volume turned all the way down, turn on the audio oscillator and also the power amplifier. Allow the oscillator to warm up a few minutes - it is a tube device and will produce distorted output until it is warmed up. Tune the oscillator to approximately 1000 Hz. Turn the volume up about ½ way and tune the frequency back and forth. At resonance the paper strips will dance noticably. The demo is now ready. Turning the volume up all the way will shatter the beaker. If some time passes between set-up and the demonstration, it may be necessary to rock the frequency back and forth slightly at full volume since the oscillator could drift.

Note: Kimax 600ml beakers are the only glass found to shatter reliably.
