NARRATIVE
Dark-colored, dull surfaces are better radiators than light-colored, shiny surfaces. The Leslie Cube has a dull black side opposite the shiny, gold surface. Beforehand, fill the Leslie Cube ½ full of water and place it on the small hot plate. Set the hot plate to low. For the demonstration, use a pair of tongs to remove the cube from the hot plate. Place the cube on the Pulse Glass Type Thermometer with the black side toward one bulb and the gold surface facing the other bulb. The bulb on the black side will be heated more than the bulb on the other side causing the liquid to be forced to the cooler side.
