NARRATIVE
There are two Center of Mass Models.
One demonstrates that the center of mass may be located at a point not in the material or
object. Adjust the eyebolt on the model by bending until the model may be rotated to any
position and remain there. When this is accomplished, the eye is at the center of mass.
The
other model is used to demonstrate a method for locating the center of mass. Mount the
model on the pin through one of the holes on its perimeter. The plumb line will always
pass through the center of gravity. The intersection of two lines thus formed is the
center of gravity. This can be illustrated by inserting an ice pick through the center of
gravity.
