            Simply evacuate the can with the Vacuum Pump and the pressure of the surrounding air will crush the can

            Another method is to put about 200 ml of water in the bottom of a screw top 1 gallon can. With the top off, place the can over a lighted Bunsen Burner until the water vaporizes. Immediately replace the cap and remove the heat. As the water vapor condenses a partial vacuum will allow the can to be crushed by the surrounding air.
