NARRATIVE
Immerse the copper plate in the copper sulfate solution. Connect the plate to the positive terminal of a 1.5 V battery. Connect the carbon rod to the negative battery terminal. When the carbon rod is immersed in the solution for about 30 seconds, a copper coating is deposited on it. Additionally, key and quarters may be tried. Remove the copper coating by reversing the current or by sanding it off with emery cloth.
