NARRATIVE
The current lags the voltage by 90 degrees in an inductive
circuit.The Jumping Rings Solenoid (coil) is used for this demonstration. Connect the
large coil in series with the audio frequency generator. Display the voltage on the
oscilloscope. The trace represents the current in the coil. Connect the coil to the second
input of the oscilloscope to display the induced voltage. Insert the small coil into the
large coil noticing that the voltage waveform leads the current waveform by 90 degrees.
