Pursglove
(formally
Stumptown)
[1920] To serve the rapidly increasing population
on Scotts Run, a new post office, named Pursglove,
was established November 27, 1920. It was named
for the Pursglove Coal Company, operated by Samuel
Pursglove, and others, nearby. The post office
was at the mouth of Wades Run, at the site earlier
known as Stumptown.
