Response Memos for the Resume Draft
In addressing your response memo to the writer, address the following concerns.
Give specific examples of where the document works well and where
it needs to be improved. Give specific suggestions for improvement
in each category.
Criteria for effective resumes:
How effectively is the resume designed over all?
How well does the resume highlight the writer's best qualifications?
For example, does it use Chronological, Functional, or Skills organization
to best advantage? Would another organization be more effective?
How well does the resume balance the concerns of providing detail while
remaining brief and readable?
How well does the resume exhibit the standards of good writing style, correct
grammar, usage, punctuation, and spelling?
How consistent is the format--e.g., are margins, indentation, fonts, spacing,
and other graphic design elements consistent throughout the resume?
