Read the
new attendance policy for WVU students, presented to the
Faculty Senate by the Student Instruction Committee and also
guest columnist and WVU BOG Member Eric Miller's editorial
in the DA about coming
up with better excuses. Also read Professor
Michael Lastinger's rebuttal in a subsequent issue of
the DA. Read
this new letter to the editor, written by Nina Forest, about
the attendance issue from a non-traditional
student's viewpoint. The
alternate topic of couch
burning and WVU's off-campus jurisdiction in sanctioning
students is found in a recent DA editorial. The Ohio
State University has also reacted to off-campus behavior in
these stories: Vice-President
for Student Affairs Bill Hall speaks out (plus a second
news release by him) and a student
newspaper (The Lantern) editorial.
Log on to eCampus. Go to the Discussion Area for our Course. Post an opinion
(at least three sentences) regarding your stance on the attendance
or couch burning topics or both. |
