WVU English 2 Grading

Your essays will be graded based on the number of points earned on the grid shown below. The criteria--Content, Organization, and Grammar--are explained more fully later. The points opposite each row indicate the maximum number of points the essay can earn for each criterion. In the case of grammar, 2 points will be deducted for each type of grammatical error. If there are more than ten types of errors, the essay fails and must be rewritten for regrading.

Grading Scale
Content 40
Organization 40

The points the essay is awarded will be added and applied to the following scale:

A = 90-100 points
B = 80-89 points
C = 70-79 points
