DVS carefully describes the visual elements of a movie -- the action, characters, locations, costumes and sets -- without interfering with the movie's dialogue or sound effects.
Watching DVS movies on video and to hear the descriptions, you only need a regular VHS videocassette recorder (VCR) and a television set. No special feature or device is needed and there is no extra charge for the descriptions. A number of science videos have the DVS sound track. A DVS guide is also available in Braille.
