The
CWE coordinates three types of programs and their related courses:

The
Undergraduate Writing Program consisits of
Expository Writing Courses such
as first-year composition (English 1), sophomore composition (English 2),
and Advanced Composition (English 108). The Undergraduate Writing
Coordinator is in charge of this programs.

The
Creative Writing Program consists of courses
in fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The department currently
offers an undergraduate major concentration in Creative Writing and a minor
in Creative Writing. A new MFA in Creative Writing will be in place
by Fall 2001. The Creative Writing Coordinator is in charge of this
program.

The
Professional Writing Program is under
development. It currently consists of Professional Writing
(English 105) and Scientific and Technical Writing (English 208).
The department is developing new curriculum for an undergraduate concentration
in professional writing and editing and hopes to offer a Master's concentration
by Fall 2002. The Professional Writing Coordinator is in charge of developing
this program.
