The Department of English presents the 2000-2001 Virigina Butts Sturm writer in residence, Margot Livesay.  She is the author of a collection of short stories entitled Learning by Heart, as well as three novels: The Missing World, Criminals, and Homework.  A native of Scotland, Livesey lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and London, and is  writer-in-residence at Emerson College.

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences presents the Second Annual Distinguished Visitors Series featuring poet Maggie Anderson.  Her books of poetry include Cold Comfort, A Space Filled with Moving, and Windfall: New and Selected Poems.  She is also the editor of Hill Daughter: New and Selected Poems of Louise McNeill, and co-editor of two collections
Readings are in the Mountainlair--the WVU Student Union at the Center of the downtown campus.
