BIBLIOGRAPHIES ON CURRENT SCHOLARSHIP
The class members of English 320: Studies in Composition
(summer 1998) compiled the following bibliographies on current topics in
composition studies.

Bedford Bibliography
for Teachers of Writing
This fourth edition of the Bizzell and Herzberg's bibliography is organized
into five major sections.

"Resources," includes information on periodicals (both print
and on-line) and general bibliographies.

"History and Theory," cites primary texts from classical to modern times,
selected secondary texts covering the same period, and recent scholarship
on discourse, argument, ideology, cultural studies, approaches to
composition pedagogy and research, and other theoretical concerns.

"Composing Processes," is divided into several sections: invention; arrangement
and argument; audience; revision; style, grammar, and usage; response and
evaluation; and literacy.

"Curriculum Development," includes writing-course design, innovations,
and specific pedagogical techniques and contexts.

"Writing Programs," provides introductory material on administrative concerns
such as program design and evaluation, teacher training, and working conditions;
writing centers; interdisciplinary writing programs; and the use of computers,
hypertext, and networks in writing instruction.
