English 304, Business/Professional Writing

English 304 is designed to teach part-time learners how to write the types of documents common to professional environments and to give them opportunities to reflect on the rhetorical choices they make in their writing. Through regular written reflections and conversation with their peers and their instructor, students in this online professional writing course consider the importance of context and audience needs and analyze writing in a number of professional genres. The final Electronic Writing Portfolio required for the course gives students the opportunitiy to revise major writing assignments and write an introduction which demonstrates their ability both to write and to write about their own professional communication. English 101 and 102 are prerequisites.
