1. Get your folder from UASC.
2. See Sandy Christopher. She will complete a status change form for you.
3. Go to room 202 and see Doris. She will make a copy of your folder for their records.
4. Bring the folder directly to the department in room 108 Armstrong Hall. Give it to the secretaries (be nice) and tell them that you are moving the file down from UASC.
If your cumulative GPA is below 2.5, you should continue to receive advisement at UASC. However, we will be happy to take a look at any schedule you and your UASC adviser might come up with.
The main advantage in becoming a PreComm Major is that when you enroll in COMM 200 and/or COMM 201 (You'll need to take these before becoming a full major in Communication Studies), you need to have the PreComm designation. If not, you may be dropped from the class at the instructor's discretion. The instructors aren't trying to be difficult but the classes are for PreComm majors exclusively and as required courses, they are in demand.
Once again, if you are a PreComm major and have an overall GPA of 2.5 or better, you should go to UASC and request that your file be transfered to the Department of Communication Studies. In this way, you can obtain advisement from the department. If your GPA is below 2.5, continue being advised at UASC until your GPA comes up.
