Becoming a Communication Studies Major
For additional Information Contact Dr.

Assuming that you meet the requirements
of the Department of Communication Studies for becoming a Major, there
is some required paper work. During the semester in which you are completing
the departement requirements, you need to go to the office (130 Armstrong
Hall) and ask for an Application for Admission to the Major and
an Intake Packet. Make sure that you complete them and turn them
in during the semester.
This is incredibly important. According to departmental requirements,
you must complete 36 hours (24 hours of COMM) after being admitted
to the department. If you are admitted as a major after the first day of
classes in a given semester, any COMM courses you take during that semester
will not count in the 24 hours.
A flow-chart
is provided which shows the procedure for becoming a major and acquiring
an academic advisor.
