Who is PBS for?
Positive behavior support is for everyone! Although positive behavior support was initially used for individuals with severe disabilities exhibiting challenging behavior, positive behavior support has been expanded for use with typically developing children and adults. In addition, positive behavior support is used to affect systemic, positive changes in school; to prevent the occurrance of discipline problems and enhance school climate. In West Virginia,
support is available at all of these levels: adults with disabilities, children with disabilities, individuals diagnosed with autism, children exhibiting problem behavior, and school-wide.
