The Regents BA Program is WVU's only undergraduate program directed at non-traditional students. Students must be at least four years past their high school graduation to qualify for admission. The program is unique because it allows students to design their own curriculum to meet their diverse needs for eligibility or advancement in employment, for qualifying for graduate or professional programs, for completing degrees started long ago but never finished, or for starting a college degree outside their reach in the past. The RBA program also allows "forgiveness' for poor academic starts in the past, and allows students to receive credit (through writing portfolios) for selected work and life experiences that are judged as at the college level. The flexibility of the RBA Program well serves WVU students regardless of their academic past. The RBA program recognizes the uniqueness of every adult entering the program and the special problems many adults have combining work, school and family obligations. The RBA staff works with students to make continuing their education possible. For many, this is the only undergraduate program flexible enough to meet their needs. Being non-traditional or older should never be an impediment to an education. The RBA Program has made a college degree possible for literally hundreds of WVU alumni of all ages. Indeed, our oldest graduate received her BA at age 94! This special program with its invitation to life-long learning deserves special support. REGENTS BA PRIORITIES
