Endowed Chairs and Professorships enable the Eberly College to attract and retain outstanding scholars who make a board impact not only within their discipline but also throughout the university. Faculty on such special appointments have teaching and research responsibilities.

Irma McGinnis Dotson Professorship in Biology

A former student's dream will become a future reality when an external trust creates a professorship specializing in genomics.

Irma McGinnis Dotson, BS Biology 1949 & MS Biology 1954, and James M. Dotson of Danville, CA.

Eugene Elihu Hutton, Jr. MD Professor in Biology

The love of a daughter will provide for a lasting tribute with the future creation of an environmental biology professorship. Funded by a charitable remainder unitrust, the donor will receive income throughout life with the remainder being used to create this special professorship. Dr. Hutton earned both a BS and MS in biology at WVU before completing his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia.
