Jessica Troilo

is a Lecturer in the Division of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University. She received a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Women’s Studies (2000) from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. She received a M.S. in Family Mediation (2005) and a Graduate Minor in Women’s and Gender Studies (2007) from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate and is working on completing her Ph.D. in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Missouri. Jessica’s research and publications have focused on societal perceptions of family members based on their family status, gender, and sexual orientation, and she is also interested in studying fathers and fatherhood. She is currently working on an online study to learn how individuals perceive different types of mothers and fathers as well as a qualitative study on divorced nonresidential fathers’ identities. She enjoys traveling, watching Bravo reality TV, and collects coffee mugs.
