Genesis Snyder
is an instructor in the Division of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University. She received an M.A. from Western Michigan University in 2008 and is currently completing her Ph.D. at Binghamton University (SUNY). Her teaching and research interests include Historical archaeology, African-American archaeology, and the relationship between race and material culture. Her dissertation examines the relationship between race, beauty ideology, and the labor practices of African-American women in late 19th and early 20th century urban areas.
