Maria Cecilia Gilardi Rollins

is a lecturer in sociology at West Virginia University. She received her B.A. and Licentiate degree in Sociocultural Anthropology from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, in Lima, Peru, her M.A. in Medical Anthropology from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and her M.A. in Spirituality from Notre Dame Institute in Alexandria, VA. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Curriculum & Instruction at the School of Human Resources and Education from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV.

Is a counselor at the WVU Office of Student Life, Multicultural Programs, where she provides services and programs to achieve understanding, tolerance and acceptance of diversity.

She conducts research on cultural competence in health care in the U.S., diversity and multiculturalism. She has also conducted research in Peru and in the U.S. Her teaching areas include theory and methods in anthropology, introduction to anthropology, physical anthropology, and Latin American cultures.
