Stacia Gilliard-Matthews

is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at West Virginia University. She received her M.A. from The Ohio State University and Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Dr. Gilliard-Matthews research focuses on White Supremacist Hate Groups, Police Behavior, Drugs and Crime, and Gender, Race, and Justice. Her dissertation examined the relationship between political ideology, partisanship, public policy, social factors, and White supremacist hate group existence in the United States. Dr. Gilliard-Matthews teaches courses in Criminology, Drugs, Crime, and Society, and Gender and Crime.
