Minor in Sociology and Anthropology

Students desiring a minor in the Division of Sociology and Anthropology may do so by fulfilling the requirements of one of the minors listed below. (If more than one minor is desired, any given course will count toward fulfilling the requirements of only one minor.)

Sociology and Anthropology (Anthropology) 18 credit hours, including SOCA 105 (3 hours) and 15 additional hours, 9 of which must be 300-level or higher, in anthropology courses. Anthropology courses are SOCA courses numbered in the 50s (i.e., SOCA 250-259, 350-359, 450-459). A GPA of at least 2.0 in courses counted toward the minor is required. Minor Code: U032

Sociology and Anthropology (Sociology) 18 credit hours, including SOCA 101 (3 hours) and 15 additional hours, 9 of which must be 300-level or higher, in sociology (not anthropology) courses. Anthropology courses are SOCA courses numbered in the 50s (i.e., SOCA 350-359, 450-459) and may not be counted toward a Sociology minor. Six hours from the following Criminology courses may be used to fulfill requirements for a minor in Sociology: SOCA 207, 232, 233, and 330. The following courses may not be used to fulfill requirements for a Sociology minor: SOCA 311, 401, 461, 488, 490, 491. A GPA of at least 2.0 in courses counted toward the minor is required.
