WVU Division of Social Work to offer continuing education workshops

Morgantown, W.Va., September 11, 2007: The West Virginia University Division of Social Work will offer a series of local workshops for social work and counseling professionals who wish to earn continuing education credit.

The following workshops will be offered in Charleston:

September 28- “Legal Issues for Social Workers” will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Robert C. Byrd Heath Sciences Center in Room 2044. The workshop will be led by Jennifer Powell, MSW, JD, Assistant Dean, WVU College of Law. It is approved for 7 hours of continuing education credits (CEUs) for social work or 7 SW ethics hours. The registration fee is $75 (early bird rate of $67.50 if registered by Sept. 14).

November 9- “Advance Clinical Training on Violence in Families” will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Robert C. Byrd Heath Sciences Center in Room 2044. Kathleen Carrick, MSW, PhD Candidate, University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work will lead the workshop. It is approved for 7 hours of continuing education credits (CEUs) for social work and 6.5 LPC hours. The registration fee is $75 (early bird rate of $67.50 if registered by Oct. 15).

The WVU Division of Social Work is part of the School of Applied Social Sciences in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at WVU.
