Center for Women’s Studies Promotes Anti-Sexual Assault Awareness
Morgantown, W.Va., September 20, 2007: The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences and the Center for Women’s Studies will distribute Rape Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) information cards on Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mountainlair.
RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization and has been ranked as one of "America's 100 Best Charities" by Worth magazine. Among its programs, RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline that provides victims of sexual assault with free, confidential services around the clock. Additionally, the organization uses the entertainment industry and community-based relationships to educate young women and men at concerts, on campuses and in communities.
The Center for Women’s Studies offers a calendar of events for fall 2007. The various lectures are made possible by financial contributions to the Women’s Studies Program Development Fund at West Virginia University.
