WVU encourages Students to embrace Spiritual Diversity

Morgantown, WV, March 12, 2006: The event “Embracing Spiritual Diversity at WVU,” moderated by Dr. Aaron Gale, coordinator of the Program for Religious Studies in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University, will take place on April 10, 2007 from 6pm-8pm in the Mountainlair’s Vandalia Lounge and Gluck Theater.

The event will provide an opportunity for students to enhance their intercultural awareness and understand the spiritual dynamics of other religions. It will feature a 30-minute documentary with students and community leaders of various faiths speaking on their spiritual beliefs and experiences in the WVU community. Entertainment will be provided prior to the documentary.

The event is co-sponsored by the WVU Center for Black Culture-Multicultural Programs, Program for Religious Studies, WVU Office of Student Life, WVU Native American Studies, and the Monongalia County Ministerial Association.

The members of the program committee include Bonnie Brown, Lourdes Cottingham, Vivien Exatier, Rabbi David Feder, Aaron Gale, Tracey Greene, Nichelle Gumby, Ed Horvat, Cecilia Rollins, and Tom Sloane.
