Philosophy Students organize National Undergraduate Philosophy Conference to be hosted at WVU

Morgantown, WV, March 27, 2006: Students from the Department of Philosophy in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University have organized a national philosophy conference for undergraduates to be held on Saturday, April 14th.

Allison Lastinger, Racquel Spencer, Justin Snedegar, Mathias Callison, Jeff Mahaney, Chad Geary, and Brandon DeMatteis organized the event and released a call for papers at the beginning of the year. Four students from other universities were selected from their essay submissions to come to WVU and present their work. Students from the Department of Philosophy will serve as commentators during the conference.

Dr. Michael McKenna, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Florida State University, will be keynote speaker and is well-known for his outstanding work in the area of freedom and responsibility. He will speak on the topic of Free Will.
This event is free and open to the public and alumni are encouraged to attend.
