WVU Social Work hosts Lecture on Triumph through FASD
Morgantown, WV, March 16, 2006: The West Virginia University Graduate Social Work Organization, Wheeling Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), part of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences’ Division of Social Work, will present a mini-lecture series in recognition of National Professional Social Work month.
“Triumph through the Challenges of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome” will be presented on Wednesday, March 21 from 6pm-8pm in the Ohio Valley Medical Center Nursing Building auditorium. The presenters include Jessica Bozenske, Anna Wade and Chris Aubrey.
The presentation is on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and how it manifests itself in children and families. It will also address strategies for improving behaviors and functioning in those with FASD.
Applications for the September 2007 cohort for the MSW Wheeling program will also be available at the presentation. There will be information on the start of the MSW program’s third cohort which is set to take place on Monday, March 19 from 6pm-8pm at the Ohio Valley Medical Center Nursing Building auditorium. Chatman Neely, Wheeling MSW program coordinator, will be available to answer questions. Representatives from Bethany College will also be available to discuss Bethany College’s Bachelor’s degree Social Work program.
The presentation is free and open to the public, but registration is limited to 50 participants.
