Political science faculty member named to LexisNexis advisory board

Morgantown, WV, December 14, 2006:  Jason Thomas, a lecturer in the Department of Political Science, was recently named to the LexisNexis Law Enforcement Advisory Board.

LexisNexis is a leading provider of information and services solutions, including its flagship Web-based Lexis and Nexis research services, to a wide range of professionals in the legal, risk management, corporate, government, law enforcement, accounting and academic markets.

The Law Enforcement Advisory Board will meet annually and was created to assist LexisNexis to better understand the unique needs and challenges of the law enforcement community in order to accelerate the development and deployment of comprehensive solutions to address the most complex and challenging crime issues.

"I am very happy to assist LexisNexis in its endeavor to understand and address the challenges faced by the law enforcement community. WVU has a unique opportunity to help guide a thought leader in the law enforcement industry and I am honored to participate," Thomas said. Thomas earned his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003. He is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science, where he teaches classes on intelligence analysis and warfare. He also serves as Deputy Program Manager for the National Cyber Forensics and Training Alliance.
